Last week, Ocid Oosting succesfully finished his Bachelor project at COPS! Ocid prepared his report entitled ‘Quantum dot emission in silicon 2D photonic crystals’ under supervision of Timon Vreman and Willem Vos, and we thank Kasper Wenderich (PCS) for being external examiner.

Ocid prepared samples in the chemical lab, and performed experiments in the optical lab on quantum dots in 2D silicon photonic crystals, where the emission of these quantum dots was probed, leading to interesting results. In addition, the reflectivity of the photonic crystals was also measured to show the high quality of the samples and verify experimental steps.
