Three Saxion students from the chemistry study have started at COPS for their professional assignment 5 weeks.

From left to right on the picture they are:

Rick Pasveer who will be working on reducing cracking in films formed from colloidal solutions and measuring how this affects the transmission properties.

Deborah te Velthuis who will be working on changing the chemical shell around quantum dots to increase their solubility in different polarity of solvents and investigating how the local and global environment of the quantum dots affects emission.

Taleb Nasab who will be creating electrostatic stacks of polymer films of varying thickness. He will be attaching quantum dots to the films and measuring how the quantum dot emission is affected by proximity and distance from a silicon surface.
