COPS congratulates its alumnus guest Dr. Takeyoshi Tajiri for being appointed Associate Professor in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at the University of Electro-Communications (UEC) in the city of Chōfu, Tokyo, Japan. His team is working hard to develop fabulous and intricate nanostructures made from III-V semiconductors for novel applications in nanophotonics, notably energy conversion devices, and ultra-high-speed switching devices, see also http://www2.w3-4f5f.ee.uec.ac.jp/wp/. As an enthusiastic advisor, Takeyoshi is also actively engaged with undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. While he was a guest at COPS, Takeyoshi performed beautiful reflectivity experiments (yes, stay tuned some more! 🙂
