Mario Vretenar starts as a new PhD student at COPS. In his master thesis, Mario has worked on an optomechanical particle detector. Under the supervision of Jan Klaers, he will now work on complex systems of coupled photon Bose-Einstein condensates which can be employed as analog optimizers to solve computationally hard problems. It is expected that such systems will be able to outperform any computational device existing today.
