Lucas Myers (Lawrence University, Wisconsin, USA) has started a summer research project under the working title: “effectively transparent contacts (ETCs) for window applications”, supervised by Rebecca Saive.

During the CLEO 2018 conference in San Jose, CA, USA, newly elected OSA fellows were recognized. COPS scientist Pepijn Pinkse was one of them. The pictures show the plaque and handing over the award plaque by OSA President-Elect prof. Ursula Gibson.    

Pim Venderbosch, UTwente Master student in Applied Physics, is starting a nanophotonics experiment project at COPS. He will set up an experiment to determine the spactially resolved optical transmission of effectively transparent contacts. His project is connected to the work of Chris van de Stadt, Lucas Myers and Rebecca Saive.

Roland Adelerhof has started his Bachelor thesis in Applied Physics. Roland will design and build a miniature bifacial solar power plant for the validation of optical models and for testing of light management strategies.

Two bachelorstudents Applied Physics started with working on their bachelor project at COPS. Maarten Eijkel will work on creating probabilistic entanglement in random scattering media. Frank Somhorst will work on the characterization of a multimode fiber from the front end.
